SCOTTSDALE
BEST 3 DAY GUIDE
Ah, Scottsdale, the land of cacti and cocktails! An ideal bachelorette weekend destination. We arrived in Scottsdale with our sun hats and sunglasses, ready for a weekend of relaxing by the pool, exploring the air-conditioned local shops, and a little desert adventuring. Don’t forget your SPF, because that desert sun is not messing around. You’ll quickly discover that the margaritas here are as bottomless as the Grand Canyon, which are perfect for having grand adventures with your favorite ladies in Scottsdale.
How To Get to scottsdale
Phoenix is the closest airport and it’s about a 20 minute drive. Ubers are readily available and cost around $35.
Best Time to Visit scottsdale
Arizona gets HOT! The best time to visit is during winter or spring when temperatures are a little lower. Also, the nights are significantly cooler than the days, so make sure to pack some layers, no matter what season you visit.
Summer (June-August): mid 90s – 105 with nights in the 70s
Fall (September-November): 80s – 90s with nights in the low 60s
Winter (December-February): mid 60s – mid 70s with nights in the 40s
Spring (March-May): 80s – 90s with nights in the 60s
How Much Time Do You Need Here
A long weekend is all you need to enjoy the best of Scottsdale. Scottsdale is also an easy location to add on to a bigger Arizona itinerary.
DAY 1 – Arrive and chill
Settle In
Check-in at your Airbnb and get ready for some fun! Unpack, unwind, jump in the pool, or decorate if you’re celebrating something, or someone special.
Schedule your Grocery & Alcohol delivery to arrive
If you’re here with a group, it might be good to order your groceries and alcohol ahead of time and have it delivered when you arrive. No one wants to spend precious vacation days grocery shopping.
Dinner Time
It’s time to get ready and head out to dinner! Try Diego Pops if you’re in the mood for some good Mexican food.
Start (or Keep) Drinking
End (or begin) the night with a drink at Bevvy. They’re known for their rubber ducky shots!
Day 2 – desert adventure and bar hopping
Desert Jeep Tour
Enjoy breakfast at home before setting out for the desert. We booked a Jeep Tour with Scottsdale Adventure tours and it was the perfect amount of offroading combined with a short walk in the Tonto National Forest (desert). The tour guides are excellent. Not only are they knowledgeable, but they also know all the angles and lighting tricks and settings to get the perfect photos. You genuinely feel that they want you to have a great time. If you’re feeling brave . . . or you really need to pee, you’ll get a special sticker if you Tinkle in the Tonto National Forest. One more bonus: you can bring your own drinks – alcohol or not – to enjoy throughout the tour.
Brunch at SumoMaya
After your morning of adventuring head over to SumoMaya for bottomless brunch. For $55/person you get unlimited appetizers, desserts, and breakfast drinks – think Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and beers, as well as one entree per person.
Go Shopping
Once you’ve refueled, you can relish in some air conditioning while checking out the shops in Scottsdale. You’ll find a combination of artisanal, hand-craft stores, as well as typical tourist type-shops.
Chill by the Pool
Head back to the house to chill by the pool and soak up some time in the sun.
Dinner at Olive and Ivy
It’s time for dinner! We loved Olive and Ivy. If you’re in the mood for Mediterranean food, this restaurant is a must! We ordered almost the entire menu and shared amongst the group, but the true stand-outs were the lamb meatballs, the truffle flatbread, and the pacific sea bass. Yum! For drinks, the Fig and Ginger Mule was a great take on a Moscow Mule.
Time for drinks!
Being just a short walk from downtown, it’s the perfect time to continue your night at some bars. Most of the bars have a similar party vibe and they’re all conveniently located next to each other. Check out:
When you’re ready to go home and grab some zzz’s, it’s really easy to grab an Uber or Lyft.
day 3 – Pool party and special dinner at the house
Breakfast at Breakfast Club or Farm and Craft
If you wake up refreshed and itching to go out for breakfast, make sure to go to Farm and Craft or Breakfast Club. . . Because a good breakfast after a night out cures everything.
Pool Party with Cabana Boys
Get ready for a Pool Party with Cabana Boys and catered BBQ from NakedQ. We had a great time with the Cabana Boys! They made us awesome drinks, acting like personal bartenders, lead some drinking games, and made sure we had cute group photos. They also made sure the house was clean before they left which was a huge plus. If you’re having a bachelorette party, this is a good time to play some games too!
Epic Hibachi Dinner with a Private Chef at the house
A private hibachi show in the comfort of your own house – yes please! You get all the onion volcanoes you could want, without leaving your home away from home. There’s audience participation, and the food’s great too, but really Chef Mike, (who was on Chopped!!) makes the night perfect. He can also accommodate dietary restrictions – like dairy or gluten allergies if you inform him in advance.
Check out and leave scottsdale
Sadly the trip has come to an end. Time to check out of your accommodations and head to the airport or your next location. If you have more time, you can easily visit Phoenix – you might even be flying out of the airport there!
