THE BEST DAY IN EUREKA SPRINGS

Best Time to Visit eureka springs

The best time to visit Eureka Springs is either in late spring, when everything is coming alive and blooming, or in fall when the leaves are changing colors and falling. Summer is nice, but it can get a little hot depending when in the season you visit. If you do visit in early spring (March – April), keep an eye on the forecast as Arkansas is prone to tornadoes.

How Much Time Do You Need Here

A day trip is perfect.

ACTIVITIES in eureka springs

Grab breakfast at Eureka Springs Coffee
If tacos of any kind are on a menu, it’s almost guaranteed we’ll get them. Here we got the breakfast tacos, a peanut butter cup smoothie, and the Razorback omelet which came with bacon, sausage, roasted peppers, and gruyere cheese. If you visit in the a.m., they have great caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. We liked the Superfood Latte with macca and the cold brew. If you go later in the day (or want to get an early buzz on) they have a bunch of fun-looking local brews. Ozark Beer Company’s Mall Santa and New Providence Brewing’s Holding Hands Passionfruit IPA caught our eye. They’re open for breakfast and lunch.

Walk around the downtown
Take a nice stroll through the downtown. You’ll see rainbow-painted stairs and cool graffiti murals, some apartments that look like they belong in New Orleans, and cute boutiques, cafes, galleries, and antique shops.

Get some Mexican Food at Amigos
Affordable, classic Mexican joint located right in the downtown. We got nachos and a burrito and of course margaritas. Try and get outdoor seating on the patio. The patio is dog friendly, too! We did have a little wait (about 30 minutes) on a beautiful, sunny Saturday at prime time.

Check out Thorncrown Chapel
This architectural marvel, nestled in the woods, is a stunning glass chapel that blends beautifully with its natural surroundings. We saw them setting up for a wedding when we visited – what a dreamy location!

See the Blue Spring Heritage Center
Visit this beautiful natural attraction with its blue spring, gardens, and historic structures.

Visit Christ of the Ozarks
As we were making our way to our next destination, we drove past a giant statue of Jesus, similar to the famous one in Brazil. We decided to go check it out and ended up seeing one of the most spectacular sunsets.

Something we’d skip: Drinks at the Crescent Hotel.
This came highly recommended, so of course we had to go, but we were a bit disappointed by the experience. The Hotel was a bit run down and messy – lots of sticky, dirty tables and out of control kids, so we decided to leave and get a drink down the road at Eureka Springs Brewing instead. Here there are a bunch of picnic tables set up in a more nature-y environment.
